Synopsis

Huai Shi has almost nothing left: no family, no money, and no clear direction beyond the cello he has practiced for years. A desperate attempt to find work as a restaurant musician goes wrong almost immediately, and what should have been another humiliating day becomes his first real step into a hidden supernatural world. A strange power, an ominous book, and a black crow pull him into conflicts involving abnormal phenomena, mysterious organizations, relics, and people who can turn emotion itself into something dangerous. Huai Shi only wanted a way to survive. Instead, he finds himself standing at the edge of disasters large enough to change the world.

Apocalyptic Forecast works because Huai Shi begins far from the usual invincible action hero. He is broke, unlucky, musically gifted, sarcastic, and painfully aware that every supernatural opportunity comes with a price. The cello and the crow give the series a distinctive identity, while the larger story expands into secret organizations, strange powers, occult artifacts, and escalating catastrophes. Its appeal comes from the collision between absurd everyday bad luck and a dense supernatural world that keeps becoming more dangerous the deeper Huai Shi falls into it.

Huai Shi is interesting because he never enters the supernatural world from a position of confidence. His cello, poverty, bad luck, and dry humor keep him grounded even as the scale of the setting grows. The series becomes increasingly elaborate, but the strongest material keeps returning to the same contrast: an ordinary young man with very human problems standing inside events that are anything but ordinary.
