Ryeon-hwi Hyeok, the eldest son and crown prince of the Demon Cult, returns from the shadows to uncover the truth and avenge his brother. A survivor of Purple Cloud Island, a place feared as a land of death, Ryeon-hwi infiltrates the Academy of Mirages, the Demon Cult's elite training institution. There he meets Seol Bi, a hidden master from the Virtuous Sect, and their unlikely cooperation begins to complicate his path toward vengeance and the future title of Demon King.
Demon King combines revenge-driven murim action with academy infiltration, faction politics and a slow-building relationship across enemy lines. Ryeon-hwi already enters the story as a dangerous survivor rather than a weak beginner, so the tension comes from uncovering the conspiracy behind his brother's death, hiding his intentions inside the Academy of Mirages and deciding how far he can trust Seol Bi despite their opposing backgrounds.
