Tsumugi Koino has spent ten years devoted to Tokki, a character from the otome game Itsuwari Shinsengumi. When her parents are transferred, she chooses to remain behind so she can keep enjoying her otaku life. Then she is rescued by Tokio Sayashi, a real boy who looks almost exactly like Tokki. Tsumugi's excitement collapses when she discovers that Tokio cannot stand otaku culture, yet circumstances force the two to live under the same roof. Their awkward cohabitation gradually turns into romance as Tsumugi learns to separate her idealized 2D love from the complicated real person in front of her.
