Synopsis
In the year 2305, humanity has expanded into space and the colonial planet Tinos has become a violent, neglected world where survival depends on oxygen-supplying life-support devices. Blue, a young man living amid corruption and crime, is betrayed and killed after being given a defective unit. The ancient work robot Fatso reconstructs Blue's body and transfers centuries of accumulated knowledge into him, reviving him as a powerful cyber-being. Reborn with a mechanical body, Blue sets out against the corrupt forces controlling Tinos while protecting those crushed by the planet's brutal system.
Cyber Blue is a late-1980s cyberpunk action manga that applies Tetsuo Hara's muscular visual language to a science-fiction setting. Blue's resurrection as a cyber-being turns the story into a violent revenge narrative, but the deeper hook is the contrast between human cruelty and artificial reconstruction.
