Synopsis
Hagakure Kakugo awakens from a long sleep in a far-future wasteland where human civilization has collapsed. His body has been heavily modified and he can transform into the armored warrior Exoskull Zero. Still guided by the belief that the strong exist to protect the defenseless, Kakugo crosses the ruined world searching for ordinary survivors while confronting other Exoskull warriors, monstrous threats and the brutal remnants of humanity.
Exoskull Rei is Takayuki Yamaguchi's post-apocalyptic reboot of Apocalypse Zero, rebuilding its central ideals around a bleaker far-future setting and heavily armored tokusatsu-style combat. Kakugo's journey is defined less by conquest than by his uncompromising idea of justice: he seeks people worth protecting even when the world appears to have outlived the values he was created to defend.
