In a future where psychoactive drugs are legal and administered through licensed 'pump bars,' Kabu is an addict and small-time dealer whose usual highs no longer satisfy him. Chasing stronger sensations and experiences that blur the boundary between pleasure, death and transcendence, he encounters increasingly extreme substances—including the mysterious drug he comes to call Ultra Heaven. His trips distort time, identity and physical reality, while experimental devices known as amplifiers push altered consciousness even further.
