Synopsis
Aiden Kellermain survives as a small-time con artist in the back alleys, following his father's rule that getting involved in matters above his station only brings trouble. He even remembers a previous life on Earth and recognizes the world around him as something resembling a fantasy game, so he deliberately avoids the major characters tied to its dangerous main story. That careful life collapses when Noel Astrea Simus, the empire's legendary female knight, kidnaps him and asks him to pretend to be her husband for one year. The encounter unlocks Aiden's special skill, Weaver of Fate, which lets him copy abilities from important figures by raising their affinity toward him. A man who wanted nothing to do with the world's main plot is suddenly rewarded for getting closer to exactly the people he had been trying to avoid.
The series combines a contract-marriage setup with a relationship-driven skill-copying system. Aiden is not a natural hero; he is a cautious con artist who understands that important people are dangerous and would rather stay beneath notice. His power forces him in the opposite direction, because the fastest way to grow stronger is to earn the trust, affection or interest of major characters whose lives are tied to the world's central conflicts. That makes social manipulation, romance and character chemistry part of the progression system instead of separate side plots.

What it feels like
The distinctive StoryKai hook is the fusion of romance and progression. Aiden's strongest ability rewards him for becoming close to dangerous, important people, so every relationship can simultaneously create comedy, emotional tension, political trouble and a new source of power.
