Synopsis
Kim Jihoon is a worn-down graduate student struggling under an abusive professor when a seven-year-old girl named Chaerin suddenly appears and is revealed to be the daughter he never knew he had. At her mother's request, Jihoon takes Chaerin in and quickly discovers that life with his unusually intelligent daughter is anything but ordinary. His health improves, his eyesight gets better, his academic work begins going smoothly, and opportunities that once felt impossible start opening up. Jihoon sees it as a streak of good luck, but Chaerin knows exactly why things are changing: she is a dragon, and helping her father build a happier life is part of her plan.
My Daughter Is a Dragon is a modern family fantasy about an overwhelmed young father whose daughter quietly rewrites the trajectory of his life. Instead of using dragon power for constant battles, the story applies the supernatural premise to everyday problems—graduate school, health, work, parenting, and family bonds. Chaerin's cheerful confidence contrasts with Jihoon's initially exhausted life, giving the series a warm, comedic rhythm while his growth into a capable researcher and devoted parent provides the longer emotional arc.

What it feels like
The series is built around a father-daughter relationship rather than combat. Jihoon begins as an exhausted graduate student with little control over his future, while Chaerin arrives with supernatural abilities and a very clear plan for improving her father's life. The appeal comes from watching ordinary parenting, academic stress, career growth, and hidden dragon magic overlap without losing the warm family focus.
