Synopsis
Perda rises to the 9th Circle, a level of magic compared to demigodhood, by pursuing the final ingredient he believes he needs: the heart of the red dragon Valdrova, his own fiancée. When he comes to kill her, Valdrova offers her heart without resisting. Only after taking it does Perda realize that the hatred that drove his life was nothing beside the despair she had been carrying. He later returns to the point where everything began—the day he is ordered to become engaged to Valdrova. This time, instead of treating the engagement as a death sentence or another step toward revenge, Perda accepts it willingly and sets out to change the future that once ended with him killing her.
My Slain Dragon Bride pairs high-fantasy regression with a romance built on the protagonist's worst past-life decision. Perda does not return because he lacked strength; he had already reached the peak of magic. His second life matters because he finally understands that the dragon he killed was not the simple enemy he imagined. The series uses that regret to reframe their engagement, mixing magic, noble politics, dragon lore, relationship development, and the question of whether knowledge of a tragic future is enough to prevent it.

What it feels like
The regression premise is built on remorse rather than simple power optimization. Perda already knows what it feels like to reach the 9th Circle by taking Valdrova's heart, and that victory leaves him with only emptiness and the realization that her despair was deeper than his hatred. Returning to the day of their engagement gives him a second chance to understand the dragon he once treated as an enemy and to change the relationship that ended in murder.
