Synopsis
Jin Sohan grew up among the women of the Mystic Lunar Dance Troupe, who took him in when he had nowhere else to go. His childhood ended when the notorious Venom Demon kidnapped him, subjected him to dangerous tests and eventually trained him in poison arts. Ten years later, Sohan finally returns home, only to learn that the troupe has been scattered by the criminal martial faction controlling the region. Some of the dancers are missing, and the people responsible believe they are beyond punishment. Armed with deadly poison techniques and the sword skills he has honed in captivity, Sohan begins tracking down the women who raised him—and dismantling the underworld that took them away.
The story gives Jin Sohan a more personal motive than simply becoming the strongest martial artist: he is searching for the people who raised him. His poison training makes encounters unusually tense, since a fight can be decided by a precise touch rather than a drawn-out exchange of blows. The contrast between his loyalty to the dancers and his ruthless methods gives this murim revenge tale much of its edge.

What it feels like
Best for readers who want a capable murim lead with a concrete reason to fight. Sohan is not chasing a sect ranking; he is hunting the people who tore apart his adoptive family, and he has little patience for the rules of respectable martial society.
