Synopsis

Yoo Chan is terminally ill, and the punishing fantasy RPG Inner Lunatic has become the one place where he can still lose himself in a challenge. Then he wakes up inside the game as Nox von Reinharber: a gifted dark knight, a major villain of the first act, and a character whose body is also running out of time. Chan knows the routes and dangers of Inner Lunatic, but knowing the game is not the same as surviving its battles, dangerous alliances, and the consequences of Nox's reputation. He has to use everything he remembers to keep a doomed character alive long enough to change the ending.

Editorial note

The hook is not simply that a player knows an RPG's future. Chan escapes a terminal diagnosis only to inherit another one, turning his knowledge of Inner Lunatic into a survival plan with real urgency. Nox's formidable potential is counterbalanced by the limits of his health and his position as an early-game antagonist. The contrast gives this academy-and-dark-fantasy progression story room for tactical choices, difficult relationships, and the question of whether the game's script can be broken at all.
